About the Color of Context
Published online on March 3, 2008
The Color of Context is an independent site devoted to movie and music reviews written from the perspective of fans, for fans. We pride ourselves on objective reviews that take into consideration the context of a particular style or genre. Horror movies are reviewed by horror-movie fans; romantic comedies by romantic-comedy fans; country music by country-music fans; heavy metal by. . . . Well, you get the idea.
We strive to provide the most honest, unbiased reviews on a ridiculously wide range of movies and music. And in our efforts to fulfill that goal, this is our oath to you: We promise to review everything–that’s right: everything-from big blockbusters to obscure independent films; from family-friendly features to ghastly ghost tales; from top-40 pop to indie rock; from bluegrass to jazz; from singer-songwriter to Weird Al. We promise to review these things, precisely, for what they are. You’ll never hear us complain that the latest Eli Roth film, for instance, is too gratuitously bloody. And if we chance upon an opportunity to review the latest from, say, metal god Glenn Danzig, we’ll be sure to appoint someone who’s actually heard of him to do the job.
A new movie or music review will be posted twice a week.
Welcome to the Color of Context.
